History
Dale Christian School opened in July 1983, utilising the hall and Manse of the old Armadale Congregational Church with two classes totalling 21 students. The school rapidly outgrew the original site and in late 1985 the Church purchased the former Dale Drive-In located on Forrest Road. 2002 saw the commencement of Dale’s Middle School with 38 students for year 7 and 8.
2005 saw the commencement of Year 11 VET School Based Traineeships and General subjects being offered and then moving into Year 12 in 2006. The ATAR stream was introduced in 2009 with five subjects offered at that level and the initial two students graduating in 2010 with an ATAR ranking. School based Certificate 2 and 3 courses as well as outsourced TAFE programmes have been an important part of the VET offerings since 2014. Then in 2020 the school partnered with Edith Cowan University to provide the ECU Uniprep course (bridging course) to eligible Year 12 students as an alternative pathway to University.
The Dale Christian College Board believe that God’s grace and love has built the College to all that it is today and look forward to what God has planned for it in the future.
Pictorial History
The Whole School 1983
The Manse 1984
The Pastor moved out of the manse allowing it to become the school building and school commenced in the converted rooms. Years 1 – 4 were in the kitchen with Years 5 -7 in the lounge room. Children visited the public library weekly to supplement the school’s small library which was housed in the hallway. Still being small, the older children cared for the younger ones giving a close family atmosphere and parents continued to provide massive support for the two staff members. Dale held their first fete which was a great success. Thirty-one students were enrolled on census day.
